It delivers a natural looking flawlessness with minimal effort and you hardly need any product to cover the whole face. I think it gets more velvet-matte (very natural), the more you use, and I also think it’s looks better on the skin the longer you wear it. The coverage I would describe as sheer, buildable to a medium. Out of the tube, #4 looks neutral enough to match my olive skin but it oxidises to a slightly warmer hue – nothing major but something to consider. The best way to apply this foundation is with a dense but fluffy brush.
I have since received some more shades and will update the swatches soon. There is some transfer on my masks when I have worn them, but this is pretty much standard even with more long-wearing formulas. Yes I find that one layer covers most of my pigmentation very well, and then you can dab on a little extra over an areas of deeper pigmentation for a bit more coverage.
It doesn’t settle around the crevice of my nose, woo-freaking-hoo! I would also liken it to the Estee Lauder Futurist foundation in texture and finish. From the shade of preview shades I have been sent, I decided that 4 Warm was my best match. This product does mix very well with the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops, occasionally I’ll add a drop to offer greater coverage and lift the shade a touch. The finish of this foundation is matte but it can work for dry skin types as long as your base is prepped really well. Hydration is key so an essence, serum, rich moisturiser and hydrating primer are essential steps before applying this foundation. I actually don’t love a gloss all over, I find it catches the light on the t-zone to make it look more textured than it actually is. I much prefer the foundation once the t-zone has been powdered. It is such a light formula, and you can stretch the smallest dot of product over your whole face. You can layer for more coverage, but it literally covers everything and still looks like skin. I usually like a glowy foundation but this is so good. So I thought I would cut straight to the chase with the shade chat.

The finish is quite mattifying too, so for the smoothest finish, make sure you prep your skin well with a good serum, moisturiser and primer as hydration is key.
I found Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin foundation to be really brilliant on redness. It covers it quickly in a very natural way, without masking. It honestly looks incredible on, it doesn’t have much coverage but you can see how radiant makes my skin look. Now, it boggles my mind that cosmetic creators keep adding token amounts of SPF to foundations – in this case SPF15. That’s not enough to provide sufficient sun protection (don’t be fooled, apply a decent sunscreen underneath) AND THEN it poses a photography risk. If I were to skip the powder, the sheen would draw attention to microscopic lumps and bumps (am I looking too closely? Maybe) but a dusting of powder and the finish is very flattering on texture.
